Giving Tuesday & Azar House PRC

Giving Tuesday, a global giving movement, is just around the corner! In two weeks, we will be celebrating the kick off of the giving season on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Azar House PRC exists to come alongside women and men who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. This means we are here to walk alongside them during their time of need. That may include providing a free pregnancy test or ultrasound, or presenting the Earn While You Learn curriculum, or providing pregnancy options to them, when abortion seems like the only viable option to them. Our heart at Azar House is not to just go through the motions, providing the services that we offer day in and day out. We are constantly on the lookout for ways we can effect our valley in real, positive ways. Our youth especially have a huge part of our hearts. We want to reach our youth and teach them about what it means to be in healthy relationships, and how to avoid sexual risks. 2018 was witness to the highest recorded number of STD cases in history. And those are just the ones that are reported! Many STD’s go undetected because symptoms are either absent or go unnoticed. With a total of 2,457,118 STD cases reported in 2018, it’s imperative that we protect our youth, and educate them about the real risks they face. Chlamydia alone affected 1,758,668 patients, (a rate of 540 per 100,000 people). Undiagnosed STDs cause infertility in more than 20,000 women each year. This Giving Tuesday, help us bring the REAL Essentials curriculum to our Star Valley youth! With your generous donation on Giving Tuesday, we will be able to send our nurse manager to The Center For Healthy Relationships for REAL Essentials curriculum training. Per The Center For Healthy Relationships, REAL Essentials Advance is the country’s leading relationship education curriculum. It is specifically designed to equip adults to teach young people skills for combating challenges they face in adolescence. Lesson content captivates the heart and directs students toward positive decision making. The sexual health components of REAL Essentials Advance are SRA (Sexual Risk Avoidance) approved. All lessons are inclusive, evidence based and medically accurate. Will you join us? Mark your calendars, spread the word, and stay tuned for more details! https://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/newsroom/2019/2018-STD-surveillance-report.html
